Associate Vice President & Treasurer

Description:

Assumes responsibility for the organization's treasury functions, including cash management, investments and debt management. Serves as the institution's Chief Risk Officer, managing insurance programs as well as all major vending contracts and auxiliary operations.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provides vision and creative leadership over the organization's treasury functions, cash and short-term investments including the management of daily operating cash collections, payable, federal and state tax payments and the management of other cash activity.
  2. Establishes, oversees and directs an organization-wide risk assessment and risk management program. Works with senior management to establish a model and the continuous assessment of its effectiveness.
  3. Assists with the staffing of the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors. Acts as the primary contact and relationship officer with banks, investment consultants and other financial institutions.
  4. Develops, implements and maintains the organization's debt policy in an effort to ensure debt compliance with all bond covenants.
  5. Manages auxiliary operations including dining and conferences, as well as vending contracts.
  6. Manages cost savings initiatives to achieve operating effectiveness and savings for the organization, in both a short and long-term basis.
  7. Provides management and guidance to the Controller, Director of Procurement and Manager of Mail Services. Responsible for creating and managing the department's annual budget, ensuring prudent fiscal oversight.

Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of relevant experience
  2. MBA and/or CPA required
  3. High degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking
  4. Solid decision making skills. Able to determine long-term impact of major decisions
  5. Requires developing and maintaining ongoing external relationships involving formal negotiations.
  6. Requires the handling of extremely delicate/sensitive relationships and complex situations
  7. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups

Salary:

$120,000 - $140,000
