Audit Supervisor – SEC Co.

Description:

This is a high exposure role with a very well respected company. In this role, you will perform complex risk-based audit and SOX assignments, which include planning, evaluating, and reviewing audit procedures performed. You will make recommendations to strengthen controls and/or improve operations, directly to Executive Management, while ensuring that audit work is performed in compliance with departmental procedures and professional standards.


Responsibilities:

  1. 1) Coordinate, supervise, and conduct complex audits and SOX assignments focused on financial, compliance, operational, and IT risks; ensure that audit scope is appropriate to assess the control environment.
  2. 2) Review staff’s work on assigned audits to ensure compliance with stated requirements and objectives, IIA standards and internal audit procedures.
  3. 3) Assist in the preparation of clear and concise audit reports for Executive Management and the Board, which identify risk based findings and mitigation strategies.
  4. 4) Develop a strong understanding of the business and industry, organizational structure, and regulatory environment; maintain skills through formal and on the job training.
  5. 5) Take ownership over career development and provide leadership and coaching to fellow team members; effectively lead by example.
  6. 6) Establish and sustain collaborative relationships with senior management through periodic and effective communications; liaise with external auditors and regulators.

Requirements:

  1. 1) Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  2. 2) 5+ years of progressively responsible experience, at least 3 of which were in an audit environment. Public accounting experience preferred.
  3. 3) Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, time management, project management, and analytical skills.
  4. 4) Thorough understanding of risk vulnerabilities, mitigation strategies, and advanced audit techniques; ability to continuously innovate and improve process efficiency.
  5. 5) CPA, CIA, CISA or related designation strongly preferred.
  6. 6) Limited out of state travel, approximately 2-4 trips per year.

Salary:

$85,000 - $95,000
