Business Segment Controller

Description:

We are recruiting for a Business Segment Controller for out fast growing client company. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress to higher levels within the company.

Responsibilities:

1. •Overseeing accounting procedures and assisting with reviewing and implementing internal controls
2. •Overseeing accounting staff and the monthly closing process
3. •Preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements; analyzing variances; creating special reports as required
4. •Assisting in the preparation of budgets and other special reporting and analysis
5. •Identifying, investigating and analyzing potential operational improvement. Making proposals for operational changes (policies, procedures, processes, etc.), as appropriate (based on findings)
6. •Acting as the primary liaison to external financial audit firms; coordinating responses to all audit requests
7. •Working on special projects as requested; assisting with yearly audit preparation

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA required
2. 6+ years of total experience, ideally including 3+ years of Big 4 experience. Will consider current Big 4 Managers or mix of public/private
3. Strong GAAP understanding
4. Excellent communication skills, able to present effectively to executive management
5. Strong management skills, able to coach and mentor staff

Salary:

$110,000 - $125,000 + 10% Target Bonus
