Director – Investment Accounting (Private Equity, Private Placements & Partnerships)

Description:

Our client is looking to fill a Director level position to be in charge of investment accounting and financial reporting for non-traditional investments. Exposure to making accounting interpretations regarding contracts in M&A, reinsurance, banking/loan review and structured finance a plus. Ideal candidate is a Big 4 CPA Manager with 6-8 years of experience or a combination of Big 4 and private industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Analyze pending investment deals as to accounting ramifications
2. Attend investment, hedging, actuarial and other project-related meetings
3. Oversee accounting activities related to monthly, quarterly and year-end close and financial reporting for non-traditional investments
4. Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley ongoing compliance with respect to investment accounting
5. Accumulate, analyze and draft footnotes to financial statements for non-traditional investments
6. Perform special projects and analysis as requested by executive management

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2. CPA with 6+ years of experience, ideally with a Big 4 firm
3. Working knowledge of accounting relating to various investments
4. Team player, self-motivated, strong desire to excel
5. Experience coaching and mentoring staff

Salary:

$100,000 - $110,000 + 10% Target Bonus
