AVP – Accounting & Reporting
Description:
The AVP - Accounting & Reporting will manage the insurance accounting team including premium, claims and reinsurance disciplines. Perform, review and oversee all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and analysis related to insurance accounting ensuring high quality, timeliness and accuracy for Statutory, IFRS, Solvency 2 and GAAP basis of accounting. Primary liaison with internal and external actuaries and legal representatives responsible for all reporting, audits, opinions, statements, etc., required for internal, management and regulatory purposes. Act as IFRS 17 liaison creating and then maintaining and continuously improving all processes, reconciliations and related analysis. Act as finance representative for new business, new products and system initiatives that impact insurance accounting.
Responsibilities:

- 2) Manages insurance accounting team including premium, claims and reinsurance disciplines.
- 3) Performs, reviews and oversees all aspects of reporting and analysis related to insurance accounting ensuring high quality, timeliness and accuracy for Statutory, IFRS, Solvency 2 and GAAP basis of accounting.
- 4) Primary liaison with internal and external actuaries and legal representatives responsible for all reporting, audits, opinions, statements, etc., required for internal, management and regulatory purposes.
- 5) Acts as finance representative for new business, new products and system initiatives that impact insurance accounting.
- 6) Participates in projects or miscellaneous requests for information as requested.
Requirements:
- • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; 10+ years of Accounting and/or Insurance Accounting experience is required
- • CPA or 3+ years internal audit experience is required, managerial experience is required
- • Experience with ledger ERP systems is required, experience with PeopleSoft ERP is desired
- • Strong Management Skills focused on staff mentoring, development and growth
- • Strong Communications Skills (written and verbal)
