Chief Financial Officer

Our privately held manufacturing company is looking for a seasoned, CFO take over for the current CFO that is retiring over the next few months. Besides functioning as CFO, a major responsibility will be to mentor and groom the current Controller to become CFO over the next few years, so this would be a great opportunity for an energetic CFO near the end of his or her career, as it will likely be a +/- 2 year assignment.


Responsibilities:

  1. 1) The chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
  2. 2) The CFO, is to manage cash flow and bank requirements. The CFO is also accountable to the Board of Directors who relies on the CFO for accurate business analysis, capital needs, and analysis of the impact of major business decisions.
  3. 3) The CFO is a critical member of the senior leadership team and is often depended on to offer critical business analysis against various scenarios supporting important business directions and decisions. A strong commitment to Lean Business practices and principles is critical.
  4. 4) This position is responsible for managing all accounting and finance related functions and manages and directs personnel in all elements of these responsibilities, both hourly and salary. The CFO is expected to train and educate direct reports on the use of various business systems, varieties of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of all regulatory and customer requirements.
  5. 5) Other major duties involve connecting quickly with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way. Working at a fast pace, and working cooperatively with and through people in order to complete tasks, motivating others. The job requires team and collaborative work within the organization, and will be integral in bringing out the best in others.
  6. 6) Many tasks in this job may entail selling or persuading others, and/or may entail training others in some capacity. This job will involve controlling all aspects of tasks, from the initiation, through the process and through to completion. 

Requirements:

  1. 1) 25+ years financial experience; minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum 10 years direct supervisory/managerial experience.
  2. 2) Experience with acquisitions and due diligence
  3. 3) Experience obtaining capital funding from various sources
  4. 4) Outstanding communication skills
  5. 5) Able to effectively present to Board of Directors and work closely with the Company President, but also willing and able to get into the details as needed
  6. 6)Experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques (i.e. RCCA, Six Sigma methodology); working knowledge of ISO-9001, AS9100 a plus; experience in use of Epicor ERP a plus

Salary:

$200,000 + 30% Target Bonus
