Controller

Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing privately held company. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be involved in many different financial aspects of the business. The Company is looking to hire a Controller that has the potential to move into the CFO position in 3-5 years.

Responsibilities:

1. 1) Manage the month end closing process and supervise the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements
2. 2) Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
3. 3) Perform financial analysis such as budget vs. actual, in order to obtain explanations for senior management
4. 4) Maintenance of written operating and accounting policies, procedures and controls
5. 5) Cash management and cash flow analysis
6. 6) Financial analysis of budget vs. actual results
7. 7) Prepare and coordinate external auditors all appropriate material for external audits and annual review of financial statements
8. 8) Coordinate preparation of tax returns and other required tax filings
9. 9) Assisting in managing relationships with external accountants, auditors and banks
10. 10) Supervise, mentor and develop staff
11. 11) Take the lead on accounting and financial special projects as assigned by management

Requirements:

1. 1) BS/BA degree in finance or accounting, CPA required
2. 2) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or private industry
3. 3) Solid GAAP accounting, financial reporting, communication and analytical skills
4. 4) Proficiency with MS Office programs and accounting software packages (MS Excel knowledge a must)
5. 5) The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
6. 6) Self-motivated with a desire to learn and succeed-takes ownership of assigned areas
7. 7) Ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the company, especially senor levels

Salary:

$120,000 - $160,000 + Bonus Potential
