Senior Accountant – Privately Held Co.

Description:

Our client is seeking a highly-motivated, well organized, accounting professional to assume responsibility for the monthly financial accounting, reporting, and analysis of 10 to 12 of our their operating companies. This position requires a person who is extremely detail-oriented and analytical. This individual will report to the Accounting Manager and work closely with the accounts payable and billing departments, and surgery center management. This person will have the opportunity to present to senior management. Prior presentation experience preferred. Candidate must have intermediate/advanced Excel skills. Experience developing and utilizing Pivot Tables is a plus.

Ideally, the candidate will possess a minimum of two to five years of public accounting experience performing general accounting, preparing financial statements and disclosures, and working directly with clients. Experience preparing/reviewing partnership tax returns is a plus. Candidate must either have his/her CPA designation or be in the process of attaining it in the next 12 months.


Responsibilities:

  1. • Perform monthly accounting, including preparation of financial statements and detailed analytical review of revenue and expense variances. Prepare monthly financial packages, in various bases of accounting, for surgery centers and operating companies for distribution to Board members and senior and center management
  2. • Prepare annual budgets; work with the center management to determine expected income and expense items and projected case volumes. Model anticipated changes to contracted insurance rates
  3. • Perform financial analyses in support of new venture assessments, member buy-ins/outs, and special projects
  4. • Work closely with the accounts payable and billing department staff in completing month-end analyses
  5. • Calculate monthly member distributions based on net income for the month and cash available while adhering to loan covenants or other potential restrictions
  6. • Review annual partnership tax returns prepared by our external accounting firms
  7. • Work closely with external auditors in preparing information for the annual audits
  8. • Other Responsibilities: Develop Board presentation materials; Prepare rolling forecasts; Perform internal control and operational assessments; Research tax/reporting issues; Compile information for property tax returns and annual income and expense reports & Assist with Special projects

Requirements:

  1. 1) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  2. 2) 2-5 years of experience at a local or regional public accounting firm
  3. 3) Strong Excel and analytical skills
  4. 4) Pursuing CPA
  5. 5) Strong general accounting and financial reporting experience
  6. 6) Strong oral and written communication skill and proven presentation skills

Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000 + Bonus
