Senior Investment Accountant

Description:

Our client is a large and well respected investment management company. The ideal candidate is a Big 4 professional with 2-3 years of experience. Primary responsibilities include: monthly reconciliations and analytics of net investment income and realized gains on both a GAAP and a statutory basis, internal management reporting and preparation of statutory footnotes and investment schedules. Responsibilities:

1. • Understand GAAP and statutory guidance to provide assistance on accounting implications for new investment strategies and ensure results are consistent with the guidance
2. • Assist in monthly close of investment results for the Company's businesses, including analytics over net investment income and realized capital gains
3. • Ownership over the creation of various internal monthly and quarterly management reporting tools and metrics
4. • Preparation and analysis of investment sections of statutory statements, disclosures, and supplements
5. • Support Sarbanes documentation and continuously monitor internal controls
6. • Drive automation improvements, including standardized variance analysis

Requirements:

1. • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required, CPA a plus
2. • Big Four experience a plus
3. • 2 - 4 years of accounting, reporting or finance experience
4. • GAAP and/or STAT investment accounting and reporting experience a plus
5. • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
6. • Knowledge of capital markets with a desire to continue learning
7. • Proven track record of taking initiative to research and resolve issues
8. • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Salary:

$72,000 - $80,000 + Bonus Potential
