Experienced Tax Staff Accountant – SEC Co.

Description:

Our client is in need of an Experienced Tax Staff Accountant with 1-4 years of experience to prepare various state and local tax returns. The Company offers very competitive salary and benefits, an outstanding culture and long-term career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities:

1. 1) Prepare Sales and Use Tax Returns
2. 2) Prepare Property Tax Returns
3. 3) Prepare Premium Tax Returns and Estimate Payments
4. 4) Prepare Municipal Tax Returns
5. 5) Prepare State Income Tax Returns and Estimated Payments
6. 6) Assist with continuous improvement efforts to streamline and automate the tax processes to allow for more analysis of results
7. 7) Investigate and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
8. 8) Perform ad hoc tax research and analysis
9. 9) Assist with state tax audits and special projects

Requirements:

1. • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
2. • 1-3+ years tax experience, ideally with sales & use tax compliance and premium tax compliance - but not required
3. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
4. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to maintain thorough support documentation
5. • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities and prioritize workload
6. • Solid communications skills (verbal and written)

Salary:

$60,000 - $73,000 + Bonus Potential
