Tax Manager – Private Industry

The Tax Manager position is a senior role within the US headquarters. The role interacts with other senior managers in the business, especially in the Group finance function.

In summary, the role is responsible for all tax return related issues (both submitting tax returns, and liaising with the IRS in the event of tax audits) and will be the US lead on all Group tax projects. In addition, to this the role will be expected to be proactive in identifying and shaping the tax planning strategy in the US, and be the conduit between Group Finance and local tax and legal advisors

This is undoubtedly a technical tax role, but it also has a significant amount of project work attached, given that the US is by far the Groups biggest and most profitable business


Responsibilities:

  1. • Provision of all required information to our local tax advisor in order to prepare and file the relevant federal and state tax returns for multiple US entities
  2. • Preparation of other miscellaneous federal and state returns as required
  3. • Preparation of quarterly tax provisions for Group financial reporting purposes using external tax reporting software
  4. • Management of tax audits
  5. • Working closely with the Group Finance function to implement US tax projects
  6. • To be the conduit between Group Finance and local tax and legal advisors
  7. • To work with the Connecticut finance team on financial reporting and month end tasks, including the management and accounting for intercompany loans, and preparation of and entry of tax related transactions into financial systems
  8. • To identify and promote value-adding tax projects

Requirements:

  1. • Bachelor's Degree, Master of Science in Taxation and/or CPA preferred; 4+ years of experience
  2. • Highly skilled in tax accounting, and able to submit quarterly tax reports (using external software) to Group Tax
  3. • Necessary tax technical skills required to prepare federal tax and state tax returns, and previous experience in doing so
  4. • Knowledge of US transfer pricing regulations, and their application to US subsidiaries of a multinational group a plus
  5. • Experience in using SAP, or other significant ERP system a plus
  6. • Ability and previous experience in developing a US tax strategy a plus

Salary:

$90,000 - $100,000
