Technical Accounting Manager or Specialist

Description:

Our Fortune 100 client is currently seeking an Accounting Manager (5+ years of experience) or a Specialist (3+ years of experience) to provide technical accounting support for the Company, under the direction of the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. The position represents a unique opportunity to utilize your accounting and finance expertise and work daily with contacts throughout the organization at all levels of management. This will allow you to develop a broad and deep understanding of the Company’s business and operations that are essential for strong career development.


Responsibilities:

  1. • Review contracts and agreements, research relevant accounting guidance, recommend accounting requirements for complex and/or non-routine transactions
  2. • Assist with evaluating the accounting implications of potential transactions and provide input and suggestions to planned and proposed agreements or transaction structures
  3. • Prepare technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and support the review process with management and external auditors
  4. • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards
  5. • Update, integrate, maintain and communicate Company accounting policies
  6. • Respond to, solve and make decisions on standard and/or routine business and accounting policy interpretation requests with limited risk
  7. • Prepare certain financial reporting deliverables
  8. • Support Assistant Controller and/or Controller in ad hoc projects

Requirements:

  1. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or MBA preferred); CPA preferred
  2. • Minimum of 3+ years relevant accounting or auditing experience for a Specialist, 5+ years for a Manager; public accounting experience is a plus
  3. • Technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP and practical experience in the application of accounting concepts
  4. • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem solving skills
  5. • Experience with technical research
  6. • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting issues to both Finance and Non-Finance personnel
  7. • Ability to work with diverse and cross functional teams, domestically and internationally
  8. • Proactive, detail oriented and able to work independently

Salary:

$80,000 - $115,000
