Director – Corporate Accounting

Description:

Our financial services client is searching for a CPA with 5+ years of experience (Big 4 or public/private mix) for their Director of Corporate Accounting opening. This is a high exposure role with an interesting variety of responsibilities including financial reporting, financial analysis and special accounting and finance projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in periodic GAAP and stat financial reporting and analysis
2. Identify underlying business drivers and provide management with an understanding of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results
3. Coordinate and produce reports, research, and variance analysis related to expenses.
4. Prepare management reports summarizing company performance to plan including expense analysis
5. Effectively communicate results to provide insight into the business drivers and provide necessary information to make effective business decisions
6. Serve as a resource to others on the financial principles forming the foundation of our operational and reporting environments

Requirements:

1. CPA preferred; MBA or the equivalent also desirable
2. At least five years of accounting experience (Big 4 or public/private mix) with strong knowledge of financial reporting
3. Life insurance experience strongly preferred
4. Mastery of financial analysis and competence in technical accounting issues, proven ability to negotiate and communicate high level, frequently sensitive financial issues
5. In depth knowledge of advanced accounting principles that must quickly be applied to new, frequently complex business situations
6. Excellent judgment, tact, negotiating and interpersonal skills

Salary:

$90,000 - $110,000 + 10% Target Bonus
