Director of Internal Controls/SOX

Description:

This is a leadership role with oversight of the design, implementation and maintenance of the Internal Control System (ICS) and MARSOX internal controls compliance programs for the company. Oversees the development, execution and maintenance of test plans, key controls. Provides ongoing compliance support and guidance to the business and oversees testing, remediation and reporting. Additional responsibilities include balance sheet reconciliation compliance and other related projects and initiatives, as well as, managing, coaching and developing staff.

Responsibilities:

1. Leads the audit process for MARSOX compliance with financial standards to ensure appropriate policies, procedures, systems and controls are in place to mitigate compliance risk.
2. Oversees ICS compliance assessments, measures identification and reporting.
3. Leads the development and maintenance of compliance reporting including an appropriate process for the timely escalation of key compliance risk issues and exceptions to compliance policies.
4. Develops and implements a compliance training program and provides technical support and training to the organization on compliance-related issues. Implements related projects and initiatives as required.
5. Mentors, develops and motivates staff. Administers performance evaluation and provides continuous guidance, development and training as needed/required.

Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent work experience is required
2. CPA or CIA certification
3. +/- 10+ years audit or accounting experience with a public accounting firm or Fortune 500 company
4. Sarbanes-Oxley or internal controls related experience
5. Experience with staff management and development
6. Exceptional communications skills (verbal and written)

Salary:

$120,000 - $135,000 Plus Bonus
