Senior Accounting Analyst – SEC Reporting

Description:

Our client is a Fortune 500 company in the Hartford area. This is a highly visible position within their External (SEC) Reporting group at the Corporate Headquarters. This is an excellent role for someone in public accounting (Big 4 or National/Regional firm) that is looking for make the transition to private industry. In this role, you will interact with Controllers and Financial Managers from the Company's various business units.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the review and analysis of the Company's quarterly financial results; assist in the preparation of the quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings.
2. Coordinate with Investor Relations and Financial Planning departments for review and validation of external communications, including quarterly earnings releases and periodic presentations to analysts, investors or other external audiences.
3. Work with Business Unit Financial Reporting Departments to ensure efficient and timely quarterly closes and to support process improvement initiatives during off-quarter months.
4. Support the Company's XBRL filing process.
5. Coordinate with Business Units to perform analysis and preparation of other governmental and regulatory reports.
6. Assist Business Units in control assessments, technical accounting research, and support on special projects, as required

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2. 2-5 years of experience with a strong knowledge of GAAP
3. Public accounting experience preferred, but not required
4. Knowledge of SEC requirements a plus, but not required

Salary:

$70,000 - $85,000 + Bonus Potential
