Director of Statutory Reporting
Description:
The Director of Statutory Reporting position will report directly to the Assistant Vice President of Statutory Reporting. This person will play a key leadership role within the Statutory Reporting Team and will provide guidance and mentoring to team members.
Responsibilities:
- 1) Responsible for the accurate and timely production of quarterly and annual basis external regulatory financial statements under statutory accounting standards with significant interaction with senior management, NAIC representatives and state insurance regulators
- 2) Responsible for the Risk-Based Capital calculations as well as presentation to senior management and Capital Management
- 3) Responsible for the Statutory Outlook process as well as related presentations to senior management
- 4) Reviewing and managing the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
- 5) Managing and responding effectively to inquiries from regulators
- 6) Identifying and overseeing continuous improvement that reduces workload and/or improves quality across the Reporting team
- 7) Providing expertise to the Accounting Policy department by assisting in analyzing new statutory accounting guidance, identifying the potential impacts to the Company and implementing such changes
- 8) Maintaining SOX controls and implementing new financial controls
Requirements:
- 1) Minimum of five years of experience in a professional finance or accounting role with STAT reporting responsibilities at a mid-to-large size insurance company required
- 2) Knowledge of Property Casualty and Life statutory reporting
- 3) Proven leadership skills required; experience managing staff strongly preferred. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required. CPA preferred but not required
- 4) Experience with Statutory Reporting Software platforms
- 5) Proactive individual with well-developed communication, analytical and documentation skills. Strong desire to continuously evaluate current processes and identify/implement process improvements.
Salary:
$135,000 - $150,000 + 20-30% Annual Bonus + Restricted Stock UnitsLocation:
