Inventory Accountant

Description:

Our client is a regional leader in road building, pavement preservation and distribution of road materials. They are seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.

Responsibilities:

1. • Track expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each location.
2. • Collect, review and enter daily productions from the field and reconcile discrepancies.
3. • Review intra-company inventory movements including proper transfer pricing.
4. • Collect monthly energy readings from Plant Managers for monthly accrual posting.
5. • Weekly review of inventory reports and analysis of variances by locations.
6. • Prepare cost-related reports for management.
7. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
8. • Assist with scheduling inventory flyovers and readings, reconcile with perpetual inventory.
9. • Assist in analyzing and establishing standard costs for produced materials; regularly review and update cost standards.
10. • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. • Proficiency in cost accounting principles; HMA and Aggregate industry preferred.
2. • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
3. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
4. • Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious.
5. • Very comfortable with Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel.
6. • Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
7. • 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable.

Salary:

$75,000 - $85,000
