Private Equity Fund Accountant

Description:

Our client is a Connecticut-based private equity firm that provides non-control growth capital to middle market companies. They are seeking a private equity fund accountant to join their team. This role requires a background in accounting, strong organizational skills and work ethic, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, and strong written and verbal communications skills. This role will report directly to the chief financial officer and will also work closely with the controller.

Responsibilities:

1. 1) Prepare and input journal entries, prepare bank reconciliations
2. 2) Process accounts receivable and cash receipts including interest invoicing to portfolio companies and related recording of cash receipts
3. 3) Process accounts payable and cash disbursements
4. 4) Assist in the preparation of portfolio company dashboards for internal and external reporting
5. 5) Assist with quarterly reporting process including the preparation of quarterly fund financial statements
6. 6) Assist with year-end audit process
7. 7) Assist with tax compliance and reporting
8. 8) Assist with SEC and SBA compliance
9. 9) Perform other duties as requested

Requirements:

1. 1) Minimum bachelor’s degree
2. 2) Strong accounting background with 2+ years of accounting work experience preferred
3. 3) Professional demeanor, organized, detail oriented and able to multitask
4. 4) Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000 + 15-25% Bonus potential
