Senior Accountant (Controller track) – Manufacturing Company

Description:

Under the general direction of the Controller, the Senior Accountant will perform accounting activities to ensure compliance with IFRS, corporate policies and external auditors. The Senior Accountant will have an active role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, monthly closing, journal entries and account analysis.

Responsibilities:

1. • Accounting: Coordinate the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, preparing/reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations. Identify and resolve financial accounting issues.
2. • Reporting & Analysis: Preparation of Monthly financial statements/forecasts in One Stream software. Assist in preparation of management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports and presentations. Coordinate and complete periodic Corporate Tax Packages and regulatory filings.
3. • Audits: Assist with external and internal audits /reviews. Complete requested materials timely.
4. • Internal Control: Evaluate and Document procedures and workflow to achieve accurate and efficient accounting systems, safeguard company assets and ensure transactions are recorded properly.
5. • Systems: Assist with system enhancements to increase efficiency, including testing and final approval for upgrades of system reports and automating processes.
6. • Fixed Assets: Maintain fixed asset subsidiary ledger in SAP ERP, depreciation schedules, costing appropriateness of new assets and monitoring asset costs against approved expenditures.
7. • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

1. • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent, required along with 3+ years of progressive experience in the accounting field, including experience in a manufacturing industry, required.
2. • 3+ years of intermediate-to-advanced experience with MS Excel required, including functions such as pivot, v-lookups, and formulas.
3. • Through understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including IFRS, preferred but IFRS not a must have. Knowledge of SAP ERP system preferred.
4. • Strong analytical and accounting skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary:

$90,000 - $110,000 + 15% Bonus Potential

Greater Hartford, CT - 4 days in the office, 1 day work from home
