Senior Buyer

Description:

We are recruiting for our large and growing manufacturing company client. They are seeking a Senior Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will have the desire and potential to grow into a Purchasing Manager role in the future.

Summary:
On a daily basis this person will execute purchase orders, process returns, forecast production needs, and ensure delivery of products and/or services to support internal production requirements. Utilizing stocking levels and production levels in the Company's ERP system they will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging and merchandise including supplier selection and price negotiation. They will be in constant contact with management and others in the organization to ensure production needs are met.


Responsibilities:

  1. • Ensure processes and procedures are performed in a compliant manner (ordering within lead times and minimum order quantities, minimizing stock-outs, etc.)
  2. • Manage purchase orders processed from requisition to goods receipt in accordance with ERP/MRP and/or requirements
  3. • Manage daily systems, processes, and procedures
  4. • Procure goods or services as required by business at the right time, price, and quantity
  5. • Evaluate suppliers based on price, reliability, capability and transaction history
  6. • Work with suppliers to communicate price changes with appropriate lead times
  7. • Communicate effectively with both written and verbal communication
  8. • Coordinating orders with internal customer service, sales team and service technicians
  9. • Respond with timely communications to internal customer’s inquiries
  10. • Update procedures and process improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
  11. • Perform other job-related duties as required
  12. • Update ERP/MRP re-order points as necessary to ensure available supply while still providing increased inventory turns

Requirements:

  1. 1) Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or similar role in the industry
  2. 2) Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and logistics
  3. 3) Ability to negotiate effectively and drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards
  4. 4) Proficiency in using procurement systems
  5. 5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong supplier relationships

Salary:

$75,000 - $90,000
