Senior Federal Tax Analyst – Fortune 500 Co.

This position is part of the federal tax compliance and reporting area, which is responsible for the US Federal income tax compliance and reporting of the Company's domestic insurance operations. Position’s responsibilities include preparing federal income tax provisions, preparation and filing of federal income tax returns and supporting audits by financial examiners. Position may also assist with state compliance. Candidates are expected to work independently and be able to recognize tax issues and recommend solutions. The position reports to the AVP of Tax.

This is a hybrid role with a requirement of 2 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities:

1. • Financial Reporting/Tax provision: Responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions on a GAAP and Statutory basis for the Company’s domestic insurance operations in accordance with ASC 740 and SSAP 101. This includes current and deferred tax account reconciliations as well as tax related disclosures for SEC and state regulatory filings.
2. •Tax Compliance: Preparation of federal income tax returns for The Company’s domestic and foreign insurance operations including both insurance and non-insurance companies.
3. • Assist with Federal tax planning initiatives
4. • Utilize technical knowledge in working on special projects including process improvement initiatives
5. • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the finance organization
6. • Function effectively as both an individual contributor and as part of a team.

Requirements:

1. • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MST desirable
2. • 3-5 years in public accounting or in corporate tax department
3. • Strong accounting skills and experience with ASC 740. SSAP 101 a plus
4. • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong PC skills including Microsoft Office applications and TM1
5. • OneSource Income Tax software experience a plus
6. • Ability to proactively recognize tax issues and recommend solutions

Salary:

$100,000 - $120,000 Plus Annual Bonus
