Tax Director

Description:

The Tax Director manages the Company's corporate income tax accounting and reporting in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulations, its corporate income tax compliance and related operational tax functions, and assists on audits by taxing authorities and in tax-planning and other special projects. This position will report to the Managing Director, Corporate Tax.

Responsibilities:

1. • Manage and review income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, prepare disclosures in GAAP financial statements, and perform complex bank regulatory tax calculations.
2. • Manage tax compliance activities related to the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns.
3. • Oversee compliance with tax requirements applicable to tax SPEs; oversee compliance with SOX 404 documentation requirements.
4. • Research complex tax-related matters and implement effects of changes in tax laws and regulations.
5. • Implement policies, procedures and practices related to tax provision and compliance processes.
6. • Manage the exchange of documentation with external auditors in quarterly review and annual audit, including SOX 404 and internal audits.
7. • Help manage audits by taxing authorities.
8. • Assist in tax-planning projects, integrating acquisitions, and other special projects.
9. • Manage and help develop tax staff.

Requirements:

1. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting
2. • 7+ years of corporate tax experience (Big Four public accounting and/or large corporate tax department experience, including experience in a management capacity
3. • Strong Excel skills required. Proficiency with tax provision software (such as Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud or OneSource Tax Provision) or data analytic tools (such as Alteryx), preferred.
4. • Strong analytical review and judgment, communication, organizational and project management skills
5. • CPA designation and advanced degree preferred.

Salary:

$140,000 - $170,000 + 15% Bonus + 10% Stock

West of Hartford, CT - Hybrid schedule
