Tax Director – International Planning

Description:

This position is responsible for identifying and implementing global tax planning initiatives and supporting the Company’s business development agenda. The successful leader will work cohesively and collaboratively with the tax teams located in CT, Europe, and Asia as, as well as other finance, legal and operations teams throughout the organization.


Responsibilities:

  1. 1. Identify, evaluate, and implement global tax planning initiatives to optimize the Company’s global cash and effective tax rate positions.
  2. 2. Prepare and review computations necessary to properly analyze various tax planning opportunities, including, but not limited to: foreign tax credits; earnings and profits and tax pools of foreign subsidiaries; book and tax basis calculations (for both stock and assets); foreign sourced income and related expense allocations; GILTI positions; and the anticipated local foreign and U.S. tax impact of transactions.
  3. 3. Analyze the impact and develop strategies associated with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, in particular as relates to the foreign operations of U.S. multinationals, including GILTI, BEAT, FDII, Section 245A, and Section 163(j).
  4. 4. Act as tax lead on acquisitions and divestitures, including evaluation and optimization strategies with respect to structuring, performing due diligence, and supporting related integration activities.
  5. 5. Provide U.S. tax input on global restructuring and business transactions, including analyses related to previously taxed earnings and profits, GILTI, Subpart F, and other relevant U.S. tax considerations.
  6. 6. Lead tax aspects (e.g., U.S. income tax, local withholding tax, and APB 23 considerations) associated with treasury and cash management positions and transactions, including repatriations, intercompany financing, and other treasury related items (hedging transactions, debt structures, etc.).
  7. 7. Coordinate with the Tax Reporting team on tax accounting issues related to planning strategies, acquisitions and divestitures, and other transactions that impact the Company’s financial statements, including FIN 48 positions.
  8. 8. Interface with the Tax Compliance team on the details of tax planning strategies and acquisitions/divestitures to ensure the accuracy of the Company’s tax filings.
  9. 9. Serve as a key tax technical resource to the U.S. and global tax teams, in particular with respect to U.S. tax statutory, legislative, and administrative developments.

Requirements:

  1. • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other financial discipline; CPA certificate, JD, or other advanced degree in taxation
  2. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant tax experience, with a preference for both industry and law firm / public accounting experience
  3. • In-depth understanding and experience with the principles of U.S. taxation of foreign operations, including GILTI, BEAT, FDII, Section 245A, and Section 163(j) ; Experience with non-U.S. tax jurisdictions and regimes
  4. • Tax accounting knowledge and understanding of impact of tax on financial statements; Understanding of treasury and cash management concepts
  5. • Strong leadership, people, and project management skills, along with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment; Experience managing tax and cross-functional teams in implementing projects
  6. • Self-motivated and effective working independently, with excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills; Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with other individuals and teams throughout the tax, finance, and legal organizations

Salary:

$200,000 - $230,000 + 20-40% Bonus
